Hidden Info Remover
Files carry details you can't see: your name, your company, where a photo was taken, how long you spent editing, who left comments. See exactly what's hidden in your photos, PDFs and Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, and get a clean copy to share.
What “files never leave your device” means for this tool
When you open this page, your browser downloads the tool itself, the same way any web page loads. From then on, your files are read and cleaned inside your browser, on your own device. They are never sent to this website's server or to anyone else. Want proof? Turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads; it keeps working.
Nothing is kept. Close the tab and everything is gone. Your original files are never changed: you get new cleaned copies.
What the server does see: like any website, the server that delivers this page sees basic connection details such as your IP address and which page was requested. Never your files.
Visit counting: this site counts visits with privacy-friendly analytics. No cookies, no ads, no tracking across other sites, and your IP address is not stored. It records which page you opened, your country, your device type, how long you stayed and when you clean or download files, never the files, their names or anything in them.
or click to choose. Nothing is changed until you press Remove.
What gets removed, and what doesn't
- Photos: GPS location, camera and serial number, date taken, editing app, owner name, XMP/IPTC blocks. The picture itself isn't re-compressed, so quality is exactly the same, and photos stay the right way up.
- PDFs: author, title, subject, keywords, the apps used, created and changed dates, the hidden XMP copy of those, and app leftovers. Names on comments are removed. You can also delete comments and attached files.
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint: author, last saved by, company, manager, template path, editing time, print and save dates, custom details, editing session codes, GPS in photos inside, and file dates. Names on comments and tracked changes become “Author”.
- Shown but not removed: tracked changes, comments, hidden text, hidden sheets and slides, and speaker notes. Removing those safely means changing the document itself, so the tool tells you where they are and how to remove them in Office.
- Never touched: what's visibly in the file. Check the words and pictures themselves before sharing.

Questions
What hidden info is in a Word document?
Usually the author, who last saved it, the company, the template path, total editing time, created and saved dates, and the names on comments and tracked changes. Photos inside can also carry GPS locations.
Does it remove tracked changes and comments?
It replaces the names on them with “Author”, and tells you where they are. Deleting them changes the document itself, so do that in Word (Review → Accept All Changes, Delete All Comments) and check again here.
Will cleaning change how my file looks?
No. Only the hidden details are removed. Photos are not re-compressed, so their quality is exactly the same.
Does it work on iPhone photos?
JPG, PNG and WebP photos work here. For iPhone HEIC photos, convert them to JPG with the Image tool, which removes the hidden info as well.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Your files are read and cleaned on your device and never leave your browser.
